Accessibility
A shoot day is run by a whole crew, and everyone on it should be able to follow the schedule. Shootable is built on Apple's own accessibility features, so the settings you already use on your iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch work in Shootable too. This page says what works today, what we are still checking, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.
iPhone and iPad
- VoiceOver: buttons, times and rows are labelled, and rows have actions to move them up or down, mark them done or delete them, so nothing needs dragging.
- Larger Text: the app follows your text size, up to the largest accessibility sizes. At the largest sizes the schedule switches to a layout made for them.
- Dark and light: the app follows your appearance setting.
- Contrast: text keeps a contrast of at least 4.5:1, and secondary text 7:1 on its usual backgrounds. With Increase Contrast on, borders and dim text get stronger.
- Reduce Motion: animations are switched off or shortened.
- Not by colour alone: done shots have a tick, running late shows as "+10", each step names its kind (Unload, Setup, Shoot), and warnings are written out.
Mac
- The same labels, dark and light, contrast, Reduce Motion and the same "not by colour alone" design as on iPhone and iPad.
- Keyboard shortcuts for almost everything, listed below.
- We are still testing VoiceOver on the Mac from start to finish.

Apple Watch
- The watch shows the shot in progress and what comes next, in system fonts and colours, with dark appearance and contrast as on the other devices.
- We are still testing VoiceOver and larger text on the watch.
The web (shared links)
- Pages work with a keyboard, show where the focus is, and follow your dark or light setting, reduced motion and higher contrast.
What we're still working on
We have not yet tried Voice Control with every common task, or VoiceOver from start to finish on the Mac and the watch. Until we have, we don't claim them. The app plays no video or audio of its own, so there are no captions or audio descriptions to offer.
Always open to improving
If something in Shootable is hard to use with the way you work, whether a label that's missing, text that doesn't grow, something you can only do by dragging, or anything else, we want to hear it. Write to contact@kvds.media and tell us what you were trying to do and on which device. We read every message, fix what we can in the next update, and tell you when it's done.
